The Grounds

As soon as you arrive at Frog Meadow you’ll realize you are somewhere special. Tall, mature sugar maples frame the southern view of the surrounding hills. The house sits at the location of a long gone farmhouse and is surrounded by ancient stonewalls once used to define property lines and contain sheep. The only sound you might hear is a lone woodpecker hammering on a basswood tree, or a pair of owls calling to each other from opposite ends of the meadow in the evening.

The pond is 12 feet deep and fed by the brook, keeping its water cool, fresh and clear for swimming. Keep your eyes out for an otter, often seen racing up the brook in search for food and fun. The quiet is palpable, comforting and fresh. It invites you to shake off the accumulations of your everyday existence and accept its embrace.

Hot Tub

Warmed by hardwood logs harvested from the surrounding woods, the hot tub looks over the perennial gardens that seem to be everywhere. The outdoor shower next to the hot tub is surrounded by native stonework.

There are as many ways to relax at Frog Meadow as there are frogs in the pond. Take a hot tub, swim or float around the pond on an inner tube with your friends, make new friends, read a book on the swing, stroll through the gardens, or do it all and then get a 90 minute massage!

Meals

All rooms come complete with a full country breakfast prepared by Dave. Fresh local fruits in season, muffins, bagels, fresh brewed coffee, eggs made to order, whole-wheat pancakes, waffles and French toast are all items you might find on the menu. With advance notice Dave will be happy to accommodate special dietary needs. While lunch and dinner are not available at Frog Meadow there are many good restaurants in the area. Scott and Dave will be happy to make recommendations and assist you in making reservations for dinner if you like. Simple meals may also be prepared in the Barn Suite.

The Gym

Frog Meadow also has a well-equipped gym room with Olympic free weights, dumbbells from five to 100 lbs., a stationary bike, Nordic Trac machine, Pec Dec, and cables for rowing and legwork. One wall is covered entirely with mirrors, and there is a television with a DVD player and a shower. Dave likes to watch wrestling videos while he works out. Ask him nicely and I bet he’ll let you borrow one.

Wireless Internet

For your convenience, wireless Internet is available at Frog Meadow.
